This barn was constructed by George Relea in 1899.  The rock foundation and silo was quarried on site, you can still see where they had last worked in the quarry, within walking distance of the barn.  The land was purchased by Madison Vincent in 1855 for $1.25 per acre.  In 1868 Jennet Vincent received the 160 acre farm as a wedding present.  Jennet’s husband, Adam was a civil war veteran and  built them  a fine home on the farm.  Their daughters Amy and Norma lived in the house and 80 acres and cared for their parents.  Their brother George was given 80 acres where he built a house and barn.  This land continues to produce crops and livestock with the eighth generation.  The barn is straight and tall and the family is proud of its heritage.
